Hope for the best, plan for the worst

The thought of planning for the inevitable can be daunting. Many of us push it to the back of our minds, thinking it’s too complex or time-consuming.
But what if there was someone who could guide you through every step, ensuring that your assets and loved ones are protected?

That's where Burdett Legal comes in.

We are Professional Will Writers and Estate Planners based in Swindon, Wiltshire.

We are proud members of the Institute of Professional Will Writers with years of experience and a deep understanding of the intricacies of Wills and Estate Planning.

We're here to simplify the process for you. Together, we’ll create a plan that reflects your wishes, giving you the peace of mind you deserve.

Imagine a future where you’re confident that your legacy is secure, and your loved ones are properly taken care of. Let’s make that vision a reality.

Three steps to your peace of mind

Get in touch

Call us on 01793 684883 (Swindon office) or 01242 384436 (Cheltenham office), or fill out a few details on the enquiry form on our contact page, and we’ll be in touch to arrange a home visit or video call.

Let’s get together

Whether virtually or in person, we understand that discussing a Will can be an extremely sensitive subject, and pride ourselves on our informal, friendly, compassionate approach. We’ll break down all of the complexities into easy-to-understand, simple language. Depending on your individual circumstances, it may be that we’re able to also discuss other options available to you, such as Lasting Powers of Attorney, Estate Planning, Probate, etc.

Drafting of your will

We’ll then go away and draft your Will and all of the other necessary legal documents. Your completed draft documents will be sent to your for approval. Once you are happy, we will print your Will and send it to you with clear guidance on how to sign it and have it witnessed. Most importantly, we’ll be on hand throughout the process for any advice or assistance you might need.

What happens if I die without a Will?

It is a common misconception that things will be straightforward to sort out upon your death.

Without a Will, your assets won’t necessarily pass on to those who you would like them to go to.
Your spouse/civil partner will not automatically inherit ALL of your Estate.
‘Common Law’ partners may not receive anything!
Minor children could be taken into Care whilst Guardians are appointed.
There could be lengthy delays for your Beneficiaries, as well as potential disputes.

Don't leave it to chance. We offer transparent, fixed fees tailored to the complexity of your estate.
